Escape to Paradise: Lanta's BEST Beach Resort Awaits!
Escape to Paradise: Lanta's BEST Beach Resort… Maybe? A Messy, Honest Review.
Okay, so "Escape to Paradise." Sounds pretty damn promising, right? Especially after the year we've all had. And Lanta? Dreamy. I booked this place, Escape to Paradise (let's call it ETP for short, because, frankly, the name's a little… generic), with high hopes. And, well, let's say it was… an experience. Not always a perfect one, mind you. But definitely an experience.
SEO & Metadata, Baby! (Gotta cover my bases, right?)
- Keywords: Lanta Beach Resort, Wheelchair Accessible, Spa Lanta, Free Wi-Fi, Restaurant, Fitness Center, Swimming Pool, Family Friendly, Beachfront Hotel, Koh Lanta, Thailand, Escape to Paradise Review.
- Metadata Description: Honest review of Escape to Paradise in Koh Lanta, Thailand. Discussing accessibility, amenities (spa, pool, restaurant), cleanliness, and the overall experience. Includes pros, cons, and a healthy dose of opinion. Perfect for vacation planning and finding the best resorts on Lanta.
Arrival & First Impressions: The Good, The Bad… The Slightly Over-Enthusiastic Welcome
First things first: getting there. They offer Airport Transfer (a lifesaver after a long flight!), which, thankfully, was smooth. The Car Park [free of charge] was a bonus, especially since driving around Lanta is relatively straightforward. The Doorman was… enthusiastic. A little too enthusiastic, if I'm being honest. Felt like he was trying to sell me a timeshare on the spot. But the lobby itself? Gorgeous! Beautifully designed, breezy, and with a view of that breathtaking Swimming Pool [outdoor]. I was instantly hit with that "ahhh, this is the life" feeling. And the Check-in/out [express] option was AMAZING. After a long flight, that's exactly what you want.
Accessibility: A Big Win (with a tiny caveat)
This is where ETP truly excelled. The Facilities for disabled guests were genuinely impressive. I'm not personally in a wheelchair, but I always appreciate places that make an effort. They touted their Wheelchair accessible features – accessible rooms and facilities and I saw it for myself. Access to the pool, accessible bathrooms and elevators… thumbs up! The paths were mostly flat and easy to navigate.
The Caveat: While access to the main areas was great, I noticed a few areas where a ramp or some thought in the design could have been improved, like access to the beach from the pool. The beach itself, however, seemed very accessible to the eye.
The Rooms: Air Conditioning, Wi-Fi and… Reality Bites
My room? Okay. Let's just say the reality didn't quite match the brochure. Yes, there was Air conditioning, thankfully. Yes, there was Free Wi-Fi in all rooms! (a MUST). I was so happy about this and even more happy that the internet speed was better than I expected. I never had problems with my laptop, iPad or phone. There was a Coffee/tea maker, a nice touch. And a Refrigerator. But the décor? A little… dated. The Carpeting was a bit worn (a touch of beach sand already, mind you!). And the Bathroom phone? Seriously? Who uses those anymore?
I did, however, love the Blackout curtains. Absolute must for a good night's sleep. The Extra long bed was a lifesaver for me (I'm a tall dude!). The View was pretty awesome, but… the sound…
The Sound Issue: A Ranting Interlude (Because It Bugs Me!)
Seriously, the walls were thin. Like, paper thin. I could hear everything. The couple next door’s snoring (loud!), their late-night arguments (heated!), the kids running down the hall (relentless!). The Soundproofing could definitely use some work! I tried the Ear plugs the hotel provided, but I still heard it. They did have Soundproof rooms, and I am unsure if I should have requested it, but probably I should have. I tried to sleep with my headphones for several hours, but then I got a headache. I could not even sleep because I was that restless. Okay, rant over. For now.
Dining: A Feast, Mostly, But with Some Hiccups
Alright, the food! This is where ETP redeemed itself, big time. The Asian breakfast was fantastic – fresh fruit, delicious noodles, and a proper coffee. They had a Breakfast [buffet] that was decent (the pastries were a bit meh, though), and, as a bonus, you could have Breakfast in room. They also offered a Breakfast takeaway service, which I didn't use, but seemed handy enough.
The Restaurants themselves were pretty good. The Asian cuisine in restaurant was the standout, and I loved the Happy hour deals at the Poolside bar. The Western cuisine in restaurant was serviceable. Don't get me started on the over-priced Bottle of water they stuck in the mini fridge!
Anecdote Time: One night, I ordered room service (Room service [24-hour] – a HUGE plus!). I was craving a simple Salad in restaurant. What arrived was… well, let's just say it looked less "gourmet" and more "leftover scraps." Not great. I sent it back. They apologized profusely, and replaced it immediately. The new one was great! The service always tried its best to make it up to me
Relaxation & Rejuvenation: Spa Days and Fitness Fails (and a Pool with a View!)
This is where ETP really shines. The Spa was worth its weight in gold. I indulged in a Body scrub, a Massage, and went to the Sauna. The Pool with view was stunning. Really, breathtaking. Just what I needed. I didn't try the Gym/fitness, however. I'm not usually a gym rat, and after two days of eating, I did not feel like exercising. But, the facilities looked new, the staff was there to help, so great!
Cleanliness & Safety: Feeling Safe, Mostly
The hotel took hygiene seriously—a massive relief. They offered Anti-viral cleaning products and Daily disinfection in common areas. I saw staff constantly wiping down surfaces.. They had Hand sanitizer dispensers everywhere, and Staff trained in safety protocol. The Rooms sanitized between stays and they had Sanitized kitchen and tableware items, so I feel safe. You could Room sanitization opt-out available.
I also appreciated the presence of CCTV in common areas and CCTV outside property. The Fire extinguisher and Smoke alarms made me feel secure, and the Security [24-hour] gave peace of mind.
The Things to Do: Fun stuff and Not a lot, but the options are there!
The resort offers Things to do, and I did enjoy some of the options. They had a Kids facilities and the Family/child friendly environment was clear. Kids were having a blast, and they seemed to enjoy it too. They also had Meeting/banquet facilities, and a few Seminars. They had a Gift/souvenir shop, which was convenient. Proposal spot
Services & Convenience: The Little Things Matter
They had a Concierge service, which was helpful with booking tours and activities. The Daily housekeeping was efficient (even if they did seem to rearrange my stuff sometimes). And the Laundry service was a lifesaver.
They offered Cashless payment service, which was a welcome feature.
The Minor Annoyances: Little Niggles That Add Up
- The Internet, Internet [LAN] was spotty. It was a little slow at times (but again, I found it okay).
- The Alarm clock was confusing.
- The Mini bar prices were extortionate.
- The Hot water linen and laundry washing was good, but did not seem to be good enough.
- I did not see Essential condiments but it was okay.
- Because I am not an influencer, I did not get to use Interior venue for special events and Outdoor venue for special events
- I did not use Meeting stationery and Wi-Fi for special events or even Audio-visual equipment for special events.
- I did not use Couple's room or Couple's room
- I did not use Additional toilet, Bathroom phone, Desk,
- I did not use Smoke detector or Socket near the bed
- Food delivery availability was not so great, I didn't try so hard to get anything, so no.
The Verdict: Worth it? Maybe. With Caveats.
So, would I recommend Escape to Paradise? It's complicated.
Pros:
- Excellent Accessibility.
- Amazing Spa & Pool.
- Delicious Asian Cuisine. *

Okay, buckle up buttercup, because this ain't your sanitized, Instagram-filtered travel guide. This is the raw, unfiltered, slightly sunburned truth about my Koh Lanta adventure at Lanta Paradise Beach Resort. Prepare for a wild ride.
KOH LANTA – Lanta Paradise Beach Resort: A Messy, Glorious Mess (of a Plan)
Day 1: Arrival and Immediate Bliss (Followed by Existential Dread)
- 14:00 - Arrive at Krabi Airport (KBV). The flight was fine, though I spent half the time wrestling with a toddler who thought my armrest was his personal jungle gym. Note to self: invest in industrial-strength noise-cancelling headphones.
- 15:00 - Ferry to Koh Lanta. Okay, the ferry. Imagine a floating sauna, add the thrumming bass of questionable reggae music, and pack it with a delightful mix of backpackers, families, and a very determined-looking German Shepherd. I'm pretty sure he judged my choice of snack (pretzels).
- 17:00 - Arrive at Lanta Paradise. BOOM! Seriously. Jaw. Dropped. Turquoise water, fluffy white sand, swaying palm trees… I swear, angels sang. Check-in was… well, let’s just say “island time” is a real thing. Took a while, even if I'm told this is normal.
- 18:00 - Bungalow Awesomeness (and the First Realization). The bungalow is cute but also kind of the size of a glorified shed. But the view! I mean, COME ON. Ocean. The tiny AC unit is already working overtime. The first real realization? I left all my comfy clothes at home. Idiot.
- 19:00 - Sunset Cocktails & Dinner on the Beach. Ordered a Mojito (the only true litmus test of a beach resort). It was… decent! Dinner: Green curry. Spice level: "I regret nothing." The sunset? Magnificent. Pure, unadulterated, tear-jerking beauty. Felt like I could actually breathe for the first time in months. Then the existential dread kicked in. "Am I good enough for this?" "Is this all there is?" (Just kidding…mostly).
Day 2: Beach Bumming, Cat-Loving, and Spicy Regrets
- 09:00 - Wake Up, Beach. Managed to actually wake up before 10 am, a minor miracle. Coffee on the balcony, listening to the waves. Life is good. Oh, except for the mosquito bites that are already forming a constellation on my ankles.
- 10:00 - Beach Day. Sunscreen (this time), book (a trashy romance novel, no judgement), and pure, unadulterated sun-soaking. Got a little too ambitious with the tanning. Also learned that local cats are VERY friendly and demanding. I had a whole conversation (mostly one-sided, involving insistent meows) with a particularly fluffy tabby.
- 12:00 - Lunch at the Beach Bar. Ordered the Pad Thai. Decided to go for extra chili. Big mistake! My mouth is still on fire hours later. And I'm convinced I saw a whole bunch of things moving in the water that weren't there.
- 14:00 - Snorkeling (Sort Of). Rented a snorkel. Saw… some fish. Mostly got water up my nose. Gave up and enjoyed the water.
- 16:00 - Nap Time (The Glorious Return). One of the greatest pasttimes.
- 18:00 - Sunset AGAIN! Because, seriously, how can you ever get tired of that? More cocktails. More staring. Less existential dread this time.
Day 3: Motorcycle Mayhem, Island Exploration, and a Near-Death Experience (Kidding, Kinda)
- 09:00 - Renting a Scooter. Okay, this was a BAD IDEA. Never ridden a scooter. Ever. But "everyone does it!" they said. "Easy peasy!" they said. I think I nearly killed a small dog. I'll blame the left-side driving.
- 10:00 - Tour of the Island. My heart. The views from up the hills. The monkeys that were very close.
- 12:00 - Lunch at a Local Market. Found a noodle place. Ate noodles with a smile and a prayer. The vendors were incredibly sweet, even when I fumbled with the payment.
- 13:00 - Viewpoints and More Viewpoints. Spent an hour gawking. So many memories.
- 15:00 - Back to the Resort (Alive!). Returned the scooter. The relief was palpable. My legs are still shaking slightly. Had a beer. Needed a beer. Several beers.
- 18:00 - Dinner at a Restaurant. Found a place with live music, and the singer serenaded me while I ate my Pad Thai.
Day 4: Elephant Trek…and the Dark Side of Paradise
- 08:00 - Elephant Trek. This was the highlight. The elephants didn't appear to be badly treated and the experience was pretty great. The whole thing was beautiful but I was torn.
- 12:00 - Beach. Chilling again.
- 18:00 - Dinner then sleep.
Day 5: Farewell Lanta (Cue the Waterworks…Or Maybe Just Sweat)
- 09:00 - Last breakfast! I really like that eggs and toast thing with coffee.
- 12:00 Check out. They let me stay a little longer.
- 13:00 - The Ferry (again). The same sauna. The same questionable music. The same… feeling like I’m leaving a piece of my soul behind.
- 17:00 - Arrive at Krabi airport. I wish I could stay just a bit longer.
Reflections (And a Shower Needed)
Koh Lanta was… messy. Beautiful. Sometimes overwhelming. Funny. Occasionally terrifying (scooter). But most of all, it was real. It wasn't perfect. I got sunburned. I ate too much spicy food. I nearly took out a canine. But I also saw sunsets that stole my breath, swam in turquoise water, and fell in love with a place that felt like a dream. And that, my friends, is the messy, wonderful truth. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a serious laundry list to attend to, and a severe craving for a non-spicy meal.
